Early this year I spent a week in NYC with the talented Ali Isitir, to shoot a short video on graphic artist Craig Redman. The film is just a small part of a bigger campaign by Turkish Airlines, focused around some pieces Craig made of players of FC Barcelona and Manchester United. Very nice and inspiring project, and of course a great week! Music in the background has in the meantime evolved into a new track, which will surely in some way be released before summer!

Saturday March 3rd we’ll be hosting the third edition of our YardVibes concept. Again, delicious food courtesy of the Toko MC kitchen, a great documentary in the MC theater room, and an afterparty with some of the nicest selectors around! This time we’ll be screening the award-winning documentary ‘RiseUp’, and the premieres of a number of shorts by director Luciano Blotta, who will also be ‘present’ through Skype to answer questions from the audience. Afterparty with Boston Strip Soundsystem, Radical HIFI, Drunken Lion Soundsystem and Wazari Sound.

Came across a video on Youtube, in which some nice images are set to my track ‘Verbs’ (off: ‘Left’). Definitely an unofficial video, but it’s always nice to have visuals accompanying the music, and I do think that it fits the mood. Big up ‘wecouldbekings’! 

This Friday I will be spinning some tunes at the third edition of ‘No School Rules’, this time longside the talented producer and dj Full Crate (who just put out a wonderful EP called ‘Golden Glasses’ on Wonderful Ear records), and residents Brutuzz and Geographic. Bitterzoet, Amsterdam, Bam!

Saturday November 26th, we’re organizing the second edition of ‘Yard Vibes’. An evening (and night) with Caribbean food, two Jamaican movies, and lots of reggea and dancehall music. This edition will be hosted by Akwasi (Zwart Licht) and will feature a live performance by rising star Rass Motivated! Selectors on deck: Radical HI-FI, Drunken Lion Sound, Boston Strip Soundsystem, and Wazari Sound. We will be screening two classic Jamaican dancehall movies: ‘Dancehall Queen’ and ‘Third World Cop’.

Sunday October 30th, Dutch singer Aïscha Traïdia will give a special performance at the Comedy Theater, in Amsterdam. She’ll be performing songs off her album, to be released on the German MPM label, with a full live band. I’ve produced a lot of the album tracks, and am really looking forward to hear how they sound live! Afterparty with dj Cream, Covergirl Sunny, and yours truly. Hope to see you there!

Also that night will be the release of the new single ‘City Life’. In the meantime, please check out ‘What’s going on’.

A while ago I was approached by Dutch label Top Notch to produce a track for the upcoming and talented group ‘Kroons’, consisting of singer Lula Ross and rapper Unannounced Guest. The track is part of a compilation called ‘Homegrown’, released by Top-Notch and MCN, and features 14 tracks by 7 new, unsigned hiphop-acts from the Netherlands.

Last week, Kroons performed the track (called: ‘Take a nap’) live in Giel Beelen’s show at Dutch radio station 3FM.

I’m happy to say I will be spinning some tunes at the ‘Grup Ses Beats albüm lansman partisi’, aka release party of the homie Koray. He’s made a really dope album consisting of beats made only with old Turkish samples, please check out some of the tracks on his Soundcloud page here.
